Events 2009: October - December

An afternoon with Serious Games
Alintec – via Garofalo 39, Milano December 10th 2009
On 10th December 2009 from 14:30 onwards, imaginary, Alintec, METID, Centro Studi per le Scienze della Comunicazione (CESCOM), Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca and Game2Growth will invite you to join in an afternoon entirely dedicated to Serious Games and their actual and potential business applications.
After a short introduction on the nature of Serious Games, regarding the advantages related to their use and the introduction of E-VITA, VoiceS and Ludus research projects, from 15:30 to 19:30 everyone may enjoy to relate Serious Games to their career objectives.
A series of computers will be available for the participants, so that they may hands-on try some of the Serious Games which have already been realised, and experiment with prototypes developed for E-VITA and voices research projects.
We will try to find with you the needs and trade areas in which you would like to use a Serious Game, analyse the potential of the instrument. The newly established Ludus project will use the collected results to organise a competition between students, linked to the design and the eventual development of a series of Serious Games. The competition, which will be realised next summer, will be officially introduced by January 2010 during a series of events that METID and Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca will organise.

EC-TEL 2009 imaginary's speech
Nice, September 29th-October 2nd 2009
During next EC-TEL 2009 conference (Nice, September 29th-October 2nd), Lucia Pannese, CEO at imaginary, with Sonia Hetzner and Melanie Rubenbauer, will hold the seminar: "eLSe-Academy, a meaningful TEL approach for senior learners".
Technology-enhanced learning environments bring new opportunities for supporting senior citizens to participate in the increasingly complex information society and to keep up-to-date with new developments. Furthermore, due to the ubiquity and flexibility of new technologies, technology enhanced learning copes best with the necessities of this very heterogeneous learners group. The proposed demonstration wants to give an overview of the eLSe-Academy, an e-learning training as a very practical solution to support senior citizens to overcome the "ICT-distance" they are still experiencing.
