Call for Papers (morning session)

There exist different approaches to supporting individual and collaborative reflection by guidance and facilitation and aided by tools. Reflection can be considered as a re-evaluation of experience, resulting in outcomes such as changed attitudes or behavior (Boud et al. 1995). Research has shown that the articulation and sharing of individual learning experiences can be used as a basis for collaborative reflection and knowledge construction (e.g. Krogstie and Divitini 2010). There is a need to further explore how collaborative reflection can augment and improve individual learning, e.g. in light of recent developments in learning technologies and approaches to supporting individual and collaborative learning processes. To bring forward research in this area, it is of interest to learn about related empirical work as well as relevant theoretical perspectives on individual and collaborative reflection. On this background we invite you to submit a position paper (max 4 pages) to this workshop. Issues of interest are connected to:
  • Transition from individual to collaborative learning
  • Different forms of collaborative reflection
  • Techniques to promote collaborative reflection
  • Articulation of knowledge in collaborative reflection
  • The role of simulation in reflective learning
  • Capturing and reflecting on affective/emotional aspects of experience
  • Shared context for reflection
  • Relations among reflection, learning, and creative problem solving
  • Tools for supporting individual and collaborative reflection
The recommended format for the contributions is Springer LNCS. Please submit a PDF file to this email address. The contributions will be published on the workshop web site before the conference to foster discussion.
